Serving women has been my calling for many years—one birth, one visit at a time. As Amy Kirbow reminds us, it is our responsibility to set things right.  I feel honored to support women through their journeys, whether in birth, prenatal, or postpartum care, or through herbal remedies.

God has clearly placed me on this path, and I have followed His guidance step by step.

For 30 years, I have been dedicated to serving women in various capacities. My journey began over 40 years ago at my first home birth, which planted a seed in my heart. I casually worked as a doula in the years that followed while raising my children. When my youngest was born, I became involved with La Leche League and served as a local leader—a wonderful experience that further nurtured my calling.

During my time at home with my kids, I studied herbalism and holistic health, eventually earning certification as a master herbalist. My focus has always been on women’s and family health. I have formulated many salves, tinctures, and herbal blends, practicing ancient, traditional (folksy) methods alongside evidence-based approaches. I’ve taught classes and workshops, held personal consultations, and even contributed to a biblical herbal magazine. I participated in an online audio conference for Christian women and wrote blogs for Bulk Herbal (Shoshanna Pearl). Currently, I stock our local birth center with NORA teas, postpartum sitz baths, and other herbal blends for pregnant women, always happy to answer questions.

I co-founded a doula business where we also taught childbirth education, developing our own curriculum from a natural and physiological perspective. Birth matters, as Ina May Gaskin beautifully states. It was a fulfilling season of serving women and their families, which included several prenatal visits, the birth itself, and postpartum support. When the time felt right, we decided to close that chapter, though I remained active in the birthing community.

Throughout this journey, I have pursued five years of midwifery education. My holistic approach includes counseling women on herbs and nutrition, and I wholeheartedly believe in continuity of care—being with a woman from the beginning and supporting her throughout her journey.

On a personal note, I love gardening and grow many of my own herbs. I enjoy anything related to home—sewing and puttering around my home. I have two wonderful grandchildren, three grown children, and a fantastic daughter-in-law. I also had 39 beautiful years with a humble man who is greatly missed.
