"Hybrid Companion Package"

A sacred companioning for women birthing within or without the system, but desiring something more- the village. This kind of Birth Guardian (Not a Doula-Not a Midwife) walks alongside a mother before and after the birth, offering heart-centered support, wisdom, listening, and spiritual or practical guidance.

Think of her as the village elder-sister, someone holding a lantern during the in-between times. She doesn’t attend the birth itself, but she helps illuminate the path leading up to it—and the often-overlooked healing that follows.

—Monthly visits up to 30 weeks

—Bi-monthly visits 30 weeks onward

Each visit includes:

For 30 years, I have been dedicated to serving women in various capacities. My journey began over 40 years ago at my first home birth, which planted a seed in my heart. I casually worked as a doula in the years that followed while raising my children. When my youngest was born, I became involved with La Leche League and served as a local leader—a wonderful experience that further nurtured my calling.

During my time at home with my kids, I studied with Vintage Remedies and Aviva Romm in herbalism and holistic health, eventually earning certification as a master herbalist. My focus has always been on women’s and family health. I have formulated many salves, tinctures, and herbal blends, practicing ancient, traditional (folksy) methods alongside evidence-based approaches. I’ve taught classes and workshops, held personal consultations, and I currently contribute to a biblical herbal magazine (by Jasmine Lucero). I participated in an online audio conference for Christian women and wrote blogs for Bulk Herbal (by Shoshanna Pearl). Currently, I offer NORA teas, postpartum sitz baths, and tailored herbal blends for women of all seasons—always happy to mail the herbs or meet in person!

I co-founded a doula business where we also taught childbirth education, developing our own curriculum from a natural and physiological perspective. Birth matters, as Ina May Gaskin beautifully states. It was a fulfilling season of serving women and their families, which included several prenatal visits, the birth itself, and postpartum support. When the time felt right, we decided to close that chapter, though I remained active in the birthing community.

Throughout this journey, I have pursued five years of midwifery education through GoMidwife and Heart and Hands midwifery intensives with Elizabeth Davis. My holistic approach includes counseling women on herbs and nutrition, and I wholeheartedly believe in continuity of care—being with a woman from the beginning and supporting her throughout her journey.

On a personal note, I love gardening and grow many of my own herbs. I enjoy anything related to home—sewing and puttering around my home. I have two wonderful grandchildren, three grown children, and a fantastic daughter-in-law. I also had 39 beautiful years with a humble man who is greatly missed.
